Comparison of CTI's Replacement Temperature Controller to Other Replacement Options

The Honeywell controls have been used by Middleby on all of their conveyor ovens. The UDC control (rubber face) has been used by Middleby for over 10 years and is still being built as a custom control by Honeywell. We have been selling this control for over 5 years with no unsatisfied customer returns. Our control is plug-in compatible to both Middleby's latest control  and the older Middleby controls.  The Middleby (Honeywell) control lists for around $900 (the price for this control changes often). The next choice is the Honeywell  UDC control (that we sell) at less than half the price.  If your primary concern is price, we have rebuilt over 450 controls (over the last 15 years) and can rebuild your control for around $200. The rebuilt control includes a one year warranty and allows you to keep your original control.

We also have the modulating valve version built for the newer 570 ovens equipped with a modulating valve (rare).

*Note: Watch for a dealer claiming to have the latest upgrade for the Middleby ovens for less than $270. What they are selling is a (non OEM brand) control comparable to our $130 control.

 Highest Cost. Best choice when:

Honeywell reliability is not important. You have a spare oven to get you through an oven failure on a Saturday night.

The resale value of the oven is not a concern.

Factory service will never be required.

Training users to a new control is not an issue.

Not recommended for service organizations, since the dual display may generate nuisance service calls (user will question any difference between actual temperature and the set-point).

Best choice for franchise operators. Spares may be kept at strategic locations.
